From David Trautman, a banker at Park National, this insight:
There is a gravitational pull of competence. This means that if you are competent, people will be drawn to you.
"Competent" might not sound like a high standard to you. You think you need to be a genius to attract the confidence of others? Well, the world is filled with so many incompetent people that the competent ones are truly rare.
Competent people return calls. They spell names correctly.
And, by doing so, they win the trust of others. So, be merely competent and the world will be drawn toward you.
Park National is a very highly-functioning, competent bank.
