Do you know anyone who has personal experience with cancer — and direct experience with fundraising?
I'm on the board of Haven of Hope Cancer Foundation, and we are seeking a few additional trustees. We're a year-old organization, growing our board. (That's not a picture of us. That's a picture of a bank board in Greenville, Wisconsin. We're just as well dressed but much better looking. At least, I think so.)
Click here for Haven of Hope's website, where you can learn a little about the organization and the board.
We are looking for trustees who are:
- upbeat, glass-half-full people who have had personal experience with cancer (in themselves or in their loved ones);
- experienced in fundraising; able to personally raise (or give) $5,000 per year; and able to help us develop and implement a plan to raise $300,000 per year within three years; and
- able to focus at the board level (not micro-managers) where we set policy, oversee the top administrator and ensure the financial viability of the organization.
As a member of the board, I have found that Haven of Hope is a great idea, wonderfully intentioned, well staffed, and operationally sound — but we need to grow quickly to meet important needs.
Feel free to forward this to anyone. I'd be glad to hear from any interested person.
