Petermyinspiration
I’m sure you are passionate about this Presidential election.

You ought to be.

Are you as passionate about it as the fellow in the photo with me? His name is Peter. (More on Peter later.)

We’ve not faced a more important moment in my life.
Two economic crises: one sudden on Wall Street, another glacially eroding the middle class.

A mistaken war that we can’t seem to resolve.

A culture of fear, hatred and separation.

And, to be sure, real enemies who want us dead.

This One Matters
This Presidential election will make a difference.

I didn’t think the last two would be as important as they have — alas — turned out to be.

In 2000 and 2004, I didn’t get off my lazy ass and do anything to help the candidates I voted for. I felt shy. I decided it was easier to stay home.

This year is different.

Vote Early in Ohio
This afternoon my daughter and I went to the campus of The Ohio State University to hear The Boss, Bruce Springsteen, encourage us all to get involved: to register now (before end of tomorrow, October 6th, in Ohio), to vote early any day until election day here in Franklin County at:

Veterans Memorial
300 West Broad Street (here’s a map)
Columbus, Ohio

Early voting is open now through November 3rd:

Monday – Friday 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Saturday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Sunday 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Here’s where other Ohio early voting locations are.

Peter, My Inspiration
Tomorrow I will go to my candidate’s office and throw myself on the heap of volunteers.

I’m going to help — data entry, door knocking, whatever — to contribute to the turnaround of this country.

I visited the local campaign headquarters last week (to get my Springsteen passes) and was greeted by Peter. I think he’s from England; his voice certainly sounds intelligent.

Asked why he was here, he said, "U.S. elections matter. I was here in 2004 and I’m here again this year."

I saw him again today — at OSU amid a multitude of people at an outdoor concert — and snapped the photo of us together.

If Peter can come from jolly old England all the way to Ohio, the state that might yet again determine the nation’s next President — how can I sit idly by?

What about you? What are you doing to support your candidate? What are you doing to win the most important election of our lives?

Please get busy. This is our month. If you want to join me, let me know. If you have friends in Ohio — or anywhere — please forward this page to them.

Let’s win this thing.

Is My Voice Not Enough To Rouse You?
Here are some beautiful, foul-mouthed celebrities who think you should get involved, too:

So Who Am I Voting For?
I feel passionate. Why aren’t I declaring my allegiance here on Net Cotton Content?

Because Net Cotton Content isn’t partisan. You can contact me to ask who I’m voting — and volunteering — for.

And, anyway, I don’t think I’m that subtle. Who do you think I’m voting for?
